# Split text into rows and generate per row

The Iterator node on Creative Canvas splits connected text into rows as you type, and a connected generation node can run once per row.

- **Live rows.** Connect a prompt or generated text and the Iterator shows the split rows immediately, updating as you edit the text or change the delimiter.
- **Four delimiters.** Split on a blank line, an asterisk, a comma, or a delimiter you type in.
- **A count, and a warning.** The node shows how many rows it found, and flags it when the delimiter never matched so you know to try a different one.
- **Run per row.** Connect the Iterator's output to a generation node and choose Per row to run the generation once for every row.
